Nowruz: Celebrate the Arrival of Spring at the Space Centre

Nowruz marks the end of the old and the beginning of the new. Join us at the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre to celebrate the Persian New Year and the arrival of spring!

Learn how Nowruz connects to the cosmic perspective of the night sky during the Equinox and explore how seasons work not just on Earth, but across the Solar System. Enjoy family-friendly activities, indulge in delicious authentic food, and dance the night away with our DJs!

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
Special Planetarium Show - Spring equinox immersive dome experience by Astronomer Dr. Rosanna Tilbrook* with special guest Ghazal Torres**

Food and Drinks - Delicious Persian BBQ (for purchase) by Suren, complimentary Persian pastries, noodle bean soup (aash) and various refreshments, plus a bar from 8 PM!

Music and Dance - Dance to DJ beats in the courtyard all night or enjoy DJ Vassa's*** set inside the planetarium!

Arts and Crafts: Get creative with fun nowruz hands-on activities!

Stargazing at the Observatory (weather permitting) – Gaze at the stars and discover the night sky!
