Nourish Baby/Toddler Massage Workshop

With Nourish Relaxation Massage Workshops for infants and toddlers, parents can bond with their babies in even more ways. This Workshop will be led by Leah Sheepwash-Owen RMT, who has been practising for eight years and is fluent in baby/toddler massage. She has daily practice and personal experience with her year-old little girl at home. Infant massage has been shown to help increase attachment between baby and parent; it can also assist with postpartum depression and anxiety. This Workshop facilitates time between parents and their baby, promoting feelings of passion, love and trust. Infant massage aids in decreasing babies’ stress hormones, resulting in relaxation and a sense of calmness for our little ones. Infant massage assists in regulating circulation, respiration, digestion and oxygen flow. This Workshop will cover techniques and movement to help with gas, colic, and constipation. Each parent and baby get their massage station on a padded matt with many blankets to keep the baby warm and comfortable. Our workshop will have fun, engaging games for parents and babies. Some studies show that “15 minutes of infant massage before bed can help babies with a deeper, more sound sleep. Affectionate touch and rhythmic movement are among the most powerful forms of communication between babies and their parents, so they’re great ways for you to bond.”
