Night of the Organs in America

"Night of the Organs"; will be the buzzword from Sweden to China and to the United States in nearly 30 countries of four continents on Pentecost Saturday, 18 May, when half the world can discover this unique instrument.
No other instrument is so diverse and unique in size, shape, and facilities. It can sound intimate or fill in for an orchestra. Its intricacy and complexity require organists to play it with their hands and feet, which impresses many. It is no coincidence that the organ has been used in church liturgies to proclaim the glory of God, but essential concert halls also require its presence. The Night of the Organs program aims to exhibit the versatility of the instrument. For several years, Filharmonia Hungary has been organizing the Night of Organs in Hungary with great success, and this year it will also become an international event. With a concert in Sarasota, America will become part of the festival. "The Night of the Organs 2024 is a worldwide collaboration of organists to raise awareness of this exceptional instrument", - said Szabolcs Szamosi, Director of the Filharmonia Hungary.
Fans of the queen of instruments and lovers of beautiful musical melodies will be able to enjoy the organ concert of Janos Palur at St. Martha Catholic Church at 12:00PM and 8:00PM.
The organist is a Grand Prize winner of the City of Paris, a Special Prize winner for Contemporary Music at the Paris International Organ Competition, and a Liszt Prize holder. He has performed in 17 European countries, the United States, Canada, Japan, Russia, Australia, and South Korea, and has recorded twenty-four CDs with four record companies. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ferenc Liszt, he published 200 improvisations featuring Hungarian organs. His main concern is enriching church music through improvisation, a tradition he hopes to establish at the highest level in Western Europe. The Night of the Organs will also feature improvisation, as alongside a performance of Liszt's "Nun danket alle Gott", the organist will also improvise on the chorale melody.

adam Balazs, the composer of the Oscar-winning film Everybody, was asked by Filharmonia Hungary to compose his "Fanfare Ungarico" for the occasion, which will be performed at every event in the world on the same day.

This day could be a Guinness World Record attempt, as it is almost unthinkable to simultaneously premiere a composition in so many venues across four continents.
