Join Winters Heritage House for a special presentation commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day on Thursday, June 6 at 7 p.m. Lois Herr, local author and cousin of missing 1st Lt William Herr Myers, will share the story of events on the day the plane crashed, and what the family has endured trying to bring him home.

Museum Director, Teresa St. Angelo, will share accounts of World War II from Elizabethtown residents, and Museum Manager and Veteran, Lauren Fox, will share a historical synopsis of D-Day events. Additionally, a Quilts of Valor representative will be on hand to present a quilt to a Veteran with Elizabethtown connections.
This presentation marks opening night of the exhibit: D-Day: Liberation Through the Eyes and Lives of Elizabethtown Families. The exhibit will be open to view beforehand from 4 to 6:45 p.m.

Doors for the presentation, which will be held at H.U. Cable House, adjacent to the Heritage House Museum, will open at 6:45 p.m. While this is a free event and open to the public, please RSVP in advance by calling the museum (717) 367-4672 or sending a message with your name, phone number or e-mail, and the number of people attending.

Following opening night, the exhibit will run June 7 through July 5 during regular museum hours: Wed., Thurs., Fri. 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. with extended hours on Fri.,, June 14 from 4 pm. - 8 p.m. and Sat., June 22 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
