This event will have activities for all ages at the Alhambra Christmas Tree Farm, 2647 Reliez Valley Road on Tuesday, August 6th from 6 to 9 pm. Admission is free, and those attending who bring optional nonperishable foods will benefit for the Food Bank of Contra Costa- Solano. Cash donations also are welcome. Anyone making a donation will be entered into a raffle drawing for a prize at 7:30 pm.
Joining residents at the Alhambra Christmas Tree Farm will be representatives of Martinez Police Department, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, American Medical Response, East Bay Regional Parks police, the California Highway Patrol, and the Community Emergency Response Team and the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office, according to the neighborhood watch group. Many of them will give safety demonstrations and provide information about bicycle safety, disaster preparedness and child identification programs.
The Steel Smokin' barbecue truck will be on site, and Boy Scouts will sell ice cream sandwiches. Children can get their faces painted and Attendees can take pony rides, visit the photo booth and visit a petting zoo. Scouts will give knot tying demonstrations, members of Alhambra 4H Club will talk about their activities, and students of Master Schreiber's Martial Arts will give a demonstration.
The Midnight Flyer band will play music from The Eagles. The event at the Alhambra Christmas Tree Farm was recognized by the National Association for Town Watch with an award for the past 4 consecutive years.
