National Level Workshop on Android Apps and Security - NLWAS 16

WORKSHOP THEME
To understand mobile Apps development challenges including memory and processor limitations, intermittent network access, to build variety of Mobile Apps with multiple platforms. Android Apps incorporates industry and Education-leading security features and works with developers and device implementer to keep the Android platform and ecosystem safe.
Day 1

1. Android Introduction with System Requirements with Software’s Installation
2. Working Android Studio (ADT,AVD, SDK)
3. Important files in Android project framework
4. Understanding of Android Activity, Layout Files, Values files, Manifest and Mipmap
5. Layouts and Activities
6. Working with widgets Button, EditText.
7. Understanding of Exception Handler
8. Toggle and Switch
9. Android Intent and Bluetooth and Wifi
10. Creation and Installation of Android apk in Mobile devices

Day 2

1. Auto Completer Text
2. ListView & Spinner
3. Android Database Connectivity with SQLite
4. Custom Menus
5. Sending SMS through Android Application
6. Splash Screen using Thread
7. How to upload the app in google play store
8. Working with Android Graphics.

ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation will not be provided by the Organizers. Participants have to make their own accommodation. The participants are expected to bear TA/DA themselves. Assistance will be provided for arranging accommodation in hotels.
ABOUT THE INSTITUTION

Rathinam College of Arts and Science is a Co - educational Institution was established in year 2001 by the KPM Educational Trust , which has 35 years of experience in promoting education in Coimbatore. The college is set in a sprawling 70 acre campus that is a part of the Rathinam Group of Institutions which has Rathinam Technical Campus, Rathinam International Public School and IT Park & Special Economic Zone .

Rathinam College of Arts and Science offer 1 5 under graduate courses and 7 post graduate courses and research programs. The institution i s member in ICTAC T, CSI, CII, YI and NSDC. The advantages that it offers to the students are indeed enormous with project & in - house training and part - time job at the IT Park and SEZ within the campus. Access to professionals, real time experience and better institutional industry interaction is facilitated by its proximity of the SEZ.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department was started in 200 1 and it has grown excellently in academic and research work. At present , the department offers four undergraduate degree and two postgraduate degree programmes and Research Programme M.Phil and Ph.D . In undergraduate programmes Computer science, Computer Applications, Information Technology and Computer Technology courses are offered. Under the postgraduate, Computer Science and Information Technology courses are offered.

 

Department offers an outstanding opportunity for budding professional to polish their skills and outperform their competitors. The department is equipped with state of the art computing and internet facilities (10 Mbps) . The department has well experienced faculty members with excellent knowledge in IT. More than 8 0% of the students have been placed in reputed in IT companies through placement c ell.
