The National Chamber Ensemble's opening night marks Kristallnacht, a tragic event in history. While acknowledging this tragic prelude to the Holocaust that was to come, the performance will be a celebration of extraordinary music. The Ensemble will perform music of beloved composers whose music has remained in the mainstream of American life and whose contributions symbolize the vibrant and continued flourishing of Jewish culture.

Presented by the National Chamber Ensemble in partnership with the Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia

On the program: "Trio on the Roof" for violin, clarinet and piano, by acclaimed composer Alexander Goldstein, a remarkable composition based on the musical Fiddler on the Roof. Also works by Ernest Bloch, George Gershwin, John Williams, Jewish/Polish composer Roman Ryterband and more. Internationally acclaimed clarinetist Julian Milkis, the only student of Benny Goodman, Cantor Arianne Brown of Adas Israel Congregation, pianist Carlos Cesar Rodriguez and violinist/artistic director Leonid Sushansky will captivate the audience. A very moving performance you'll want to experience.
We are honored to welcome renowned violin virtuoso Daniel Heifetz as guest host for this special program. Mr. Heifetz is the Founder of the Heifetz International Music Institute. In a career spanning over 30 years, Mr. Heifetz has dedicated himself to the art of communication through performance and education.

(A week after the performance, all ticket holders will receive a link to the exclusively produced video of the performance to enjoy again and again.)
