Although fights over things like library book bans, trans students' access to bathrooms, critical race theory, gun violence, and policing and public safety in schools have been in the national spotlight, the routine issues like curriculum decisions, staffing issues, resource allocation, and purchasing decisions can also be controversial and impactful.
Why should we ALL care about these decisions by school boards? It impacts the students as future leaders in all parts of our economy and political leadership, our community, and the future of our democracy.
Come listen on Zoom to the Superintendent of Napa Valley Unified School District, the student board member for NVUSD, and 7 school board candidates that are in contested races and you'll understand why we all need to pay attention and care.
