On Monday, May 15 at 7 pm, Benaroya Hall's Nordstrom Recital Hall in Seattle will host an evening of music to raise funds for the survivors of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. The event will feature a stunning lineup of world-renowned musicians, including Turkish cellist Efe Baltacigil, violinist Noah Geller, harpist Valerie Muzzolini, pianist Paige Roberts Molloy, percussionist Mari Yoshinaga and bassist Will Langlie-Miletich, as well as a virtual performance from an internationally renowned musician.
The earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, which struck earlier this year, have caused widespread destruction and displacement, leaving thousands in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. This event aims to raise much-needed funds for relief efforts, with all net proceeds to be distributed equally among four organizations: UNICEF, International Red Cross, Red Crescent and AFAD.
I am very inspired to see musicians coming together and help less fortunate ;
life with music, music with life. Efe Baltacigil, Principal Cellist Seattle Symphony
We are grateful to have the opportunity to collaborate with several local classical music organizations to bring attention to the on-going plight of the survivors of the earthquake. We are honored that these world-class musicians are donating their talents to support this effort.
Jeff Lehman, President and CEO Puget Sound Music Collaborative
The event is presented in partnership with Puget Sound Music Collaborative, Seattle Symphony, Seattle Chamber Music Society, King FM, The Seattle Series and Emerald City Music, and is made possible through the generosity of the musicians who have donated their time and talents.
