After teaching at Sundance for over twenty years, Linda Tay'nahza brings her printmaking prowess back to Southern Utah. This two day workshop will center around creating individual artworks inspired by the majestic natural surroundings of Kayenta.
Monotype is a method of printmaking that offers the artist a unique opportunity to draw, paint, collage and print all at once and is prized for its unique textural qualities. In this process, prints are made by creating an image on a smooth surface, such as glass and then pressing the image into a sheet of paper, yielding one unique image. Beginning with an overview of the history and tools used in this unique method, Linda will lead process demonstrations, providing students with inspiration to mix and match varied applications. Students will choose areas of personal interest, or try them all as they create unique artwork that expresses their individual style. No previous art experience is necessary.
*Please note that this class is limited to ten students
