La trahison des images
Performed by Leedongha Dance Project
Choreographer: Lee Dongha

We believe in what we see. That which may be a fact may not be a truth. What we believe in and what we refer to-are they really the same? In general, our perception recognizes information delivered through the five senses as factual. But are such facts really true? With Magritte's paintings, what we see, hear, and feel may not be the truth, and perhaps the truth we know is not justice. Even if an object is represented realistically, it only depicts the object and cannot be the object itself. This work asks us not whether we are believing in what we see, but rather whether we are seeing what we believe in.

Leedongha Dance Project, established in 2015, pursues instinctive expression by focusing on natural movements in which everyday life becomes dance, implementing this approach concretely on stage. The troupe attempts to communicate with the audience through creative expression by approaching timely subject matters with various perspectives.
