Mexican Cultural Festival at Plaza Las Americas

The Consulate General of Mexico in Atlanta and Plaza Las Americaswill celebrate the first Guelaguetza, one of the most important cultural festivals in Mexico.

Guelaguetza is a word derived from the Zapotec language that means "to share" or "gift". This celebration is an annual festival that takes place in the Mexican state of Oaxaca in which communities from different regions meet to "share" the good that life has to offer.

The event will feature the participation of Euzkal Folkloric Group that will present traditional dances from different regions of Oaxaca and the music of Tamborazo Adixion Group.

There will be sales of indigenous products, such as typical food, clothes, art, and other handicrafts from the state of Oaxaca.

Viva Tequila Festival will offer a free tasting of traditional mezcals, made in different parts of Mexico.
The event will take place on July 25thfrom 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Plaza Las Americas.
