Mayfair Sculpture Trail

A great free cultural day out in London, the Mayfair Sculpture Trail spans the West End. From Bond Street to the grandeur of Grosvenor Square, visitors have the opportunity to see an outdoor exhibition of cutting-edge contemporary sculpture curated by the Mayfair galleries themselves. This year the key theme is Humanity.

Highlights include up-and-coming Turkish artist Hande Åžekerciler, presented by JD Malat Gallery. Her experimentation with both form and social issues in the sculptural work is unmissable. William Peers’ new marble face carving, presented by John Martin Gallery, celebrates humankind. David Breuer-Weil reminds us of the discomfort and unease of the past year with his sculpture ‘Alien 2’ presented by EandR Cyzer. The Opera Gallery is presenting three sculptures including the hyper-realistic sculpture of the human body by South Korean artist Seo Young-Deok made with parts from bicycles and industrial machinery. Nearby on Cork Street, Lisson Gallery is presenting Julie Opie’s ‘Long Hair’.

In addition, the maps take visitors through the permanent art works of Mayfair such as Neal French’s sculpture of Twiggy at Bourdon Place and Banksy’s ‘Falling Shopper’ in Bruton Lane.

The Mayfair Sculpture Trail is a fantastic chance to reconnect with London’s public spaces and experience art in real life, both of which have been missing from many people’s lives over the past year. There is also a wide range of sculptors and styles from across the world. The trails variety, diversity and accessibility create a thought-provoking and enjoyable day out in London for everyone.

The Mayfair Sculpture Trail finishes on the weekend of Mayfair Art Weekend 25-27 June when the galleries are open late and all weekend welcoming visitors to see world-class exhibitions.
