Step back in history with Sheldon's Horse, the Second Continental Light Dragoons: Connecticut's Revolutionary War Cavalry!

On April 27 between 11 am and 2 pm, Sheldon's Horse, the Second Continental Light Dragoons, will demonstrate the skills required to become Revolutionary War cavalry soldier. There will be narrated demonstrations of infantry and cavalry drills plus education stations, live music and crafts in the Mather Homestead barn. Additionally, a Libation Ceremony honoring veterans of all services will be held. All veterans in attendance are invited to participate. Fun and learning for the whole family. Attendees are encouraged to bring a carrot for the horses!

Sheldon's Horse was unique among the four Congressionally constituted dragoon regiments, winning victories on horse, on foot and at sea, as well as forming the basis of Washington's Culper Spy Ring.
