Marshfield Community Rib Cook-off | Amateur BBQ Competition and Fundraiser | Sept. 9, 2023

The 15th Annual Marshfield Community Rib Cook-off [MCRCO] is a family-oriented fun-filled event supporting charitable organizations who embody the MCRCO's mission to support local youth and families facing economic hardship and food and housing insecurity. Three thousand+ BBQ enthusiasts will gather at the Marshfield Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 9th from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. Teams will fire up their smokers as early as 5am that morning and prepare their highly curated rubs and sauces aimed at wowing our panel of judges comprised of culinary experts and community celebrities who know a thing or two about great ribs!

The Marshfield Community Rib Cook-Off competition is open to all amateur BBQ enthusiasts. First place, second place, and third place winners are selected by our panel of judges and awarded glory and distinction as ultimate pit masters with supreme bragging rights for an entire year! Additionally, event guests play a critical role selecting the winner of the "People's Choice Award".  

Wristbands are on sale now for $5.00 per person at https://mcrco.org

Wristbands are required for Adults and Children ages 11 and up (free admission ages 10 and under). The wristband admission fee does not include the cost of food and beverage during the event. Rib tickets are available at check-in by cash and credit card. Local vendors including B’s Homemade Ice Cream, Stellwagen Brewery, Cask n Flagon, Ocean St Seafood and BBQ and others will provide additional food and drink options appealing to a wide range of tastes.

While ribs are the main event, there's so much more - including live music and fun for the whole family! The event features live music from Cindy Lou Music whose sultry and smoky (pun intended) sounds will emanate from the main stage; Duxbury-based upbeat cover band Despite Dwight; and local acoustic legend Jimmy Sylvia. The kids enjoy the annual Touch a Truck event and backyard games.
