Manteca Quilt Show

Saturday March 7, 2020 marks the opening day of the 41st Quilt and Cloth Doll show presented by the Manteca Quilters. The two-day event, Saturday March 7th and Sunday March 8th, is being held at the San Joaquin Board of Education Wentworth Center located at 2707 Transworld Drive located in Stockton CA. The show boasts more than 100 quilts, soft dolls, and wearable arts exhibits. This year marks the first year to include a special exhibit presented by the Silicon Valley Modern Quilt Guild. Also featured will be an interactive quilt exhibit and an "Old Fashioned Bed Turning".  

This year's featured artist is quiltmaker and pattern designer Cindy Thompson. Cindy is best known for her award-winning Art Quilts inspired by photographs. She uses a variety of techniques and materials to create stunning works of art. Her designs have been published in Art Quilting books, displayed at galleries, and viewed at numerous juried quilt shows across the nation. Her Art Quilt "Reigning Prince" is currently travelling with the Cherrywood Challenge Prince exhibit honoring the late musician. 

In addition to exhibits and the featured artist, the show also boasts a vendor mall, demos, raffle baskets, and an opportunity quilt. This years opportunity quilt is titled "Romance Blooms in Spring" was made by guild members and quilted by Jan Truscott.  Tickets will be sold at the show for $1 each or $5 for 6 tickets. 

Show hours are from 9am to 4pm on Saturday March 7th and from 9am to 3pm on Sunday March 8th. Admission is $7 per day or a two-day pass can be purchased for $10. Children under 12 attend free. 

Proceeds from ticket sales will help support the guilds philanthropic efforts. Organizations such as "Quilts of Honor" supporting veterans and "Friends of the Library" as well as numerous community outreach programs benefit from the proceeds.
