Maine Celtic Celebration

Celtic heritage is on display across the festival grounds, from workshops on genealogy, storytelling, sing-alongs, and Sean-nós dancing to lessons given by the masters on playing traditional Celtic music instruments. Visitors will enjoy a variety of events like the Celtic Dog Show, Highland Heavy Games, Cheese Roll Championship, sporting activities and reenactors, in addition to food and merchandise vendors, and a beer tent. Fireworks are displayed Saturday night after the last stage performance.

There is a traditional Celtic music seisiun each day of the weekend where the public is invited to sit in with seasoned professional musicians to play tunes, share stories and enjoy the camaraderie that is the hallmark of Celtic culture.

Festival grounds are located at Belfast Commons right on the waterfront, affording visitors gorgeous views of the harbor.
As an all-volunteer run 501c(3) nonprofit, Maine Celtic Celebration relies upon donations, grants and sponsors to cover the $50,000 in operating costs. Festival attendees are strongly encouraged to make a donation at the gate of $20 per person/$40 per family per day.

Well-manner dogs on leashes are allowed on the grounds. So grab a blanket or lawn chairs, bring sunscreen and join in the music and fun this July!
