The Longest Day 24HR (TLD24)

Set in the grounds of Bereleigh House, a private estate of rolling farmland and picturesque forest trails set within the South Downs National Park, runners will tackle the 5-mile trail route at all hours of the day and night. Runners can compete in teams of up to 8 or if you're really up for the challenge, face the beast on your own! The aim of the game is to complete as many laps as possible within the 24-hour period. There are prize categories for each team size and soloists, with all runners receiving a great medal, TLD technical t-shirt and free race photography.
 
The main event starts at midday on Saturday 18th June and continues through till Sunday 19th at midday, but you can start or stop your own race at any time. You can take sleep or rest breaks at any time during the 24 hours. There will be musical entertainment at choice times of the day and evening, and an array of different eateries to help keep you powered up throughout the event.

Each registered member of a team must complete at least one lap of the course, only one team member can be on the course at any one time but that aside there are no other restrictions on the order of running, the number of laps an individual team member completes or whether the team is continually running. Team captains can add or change members of a team (subject to the team size that has was originally registered) up until 10am on Saturday, June 18. Changes can be made by contacting 2:09 Events ([email protected]) up until Thursday, June 16 or in person at the race HQ inside the event village. (Non registered runners can not be used during the event and any team found to be using a non-registered runner will be disqualified).

Each team will receive a team wristband that has to be exchanged between team members at the changeover point. You do not have to make a changeover at every lap but you can only enter or exit the race course at the changeover point. Individual runners can run as many consecutive laps as they wish.

The minimum age for solo runners is 18-years. The minimum age for team members is 16-years.

All entries close on Wednesday 15th June at 12:00 pm (No entries will be accepted after this time).

Arrivals and Camping

The event village will be open from 4 pm on Friday, June 17, when teams can start to set up their tents. There will be no entry after 10.30 am on Saturday, June 18. Your race entry includes your camping pitch for Friday and Saturday night. You will need to provide your own tent and camping supplies. We have a limited number of tents available for hire, suitable for solo competitors or pairs. Please send an enquiry ([email protected]) if you are interested in hiring a tent. An individual pitch is large enough for a 4-5 person tent or multiple smaller tents. Solo, pairs and small teams will receive one pitch, medium and large teams will receive two pitches. Solo competitors can bring a support person to the event free of charge. For pairs or teams, there is a £12 per person camping fee for any adult support staff. There is no charge for any children attending the event.

The campsite will be organised so that solo competitor tents are closest to the changeover points where you can enter and exit the course. All team camping pitches will be allocated on a first-come/first-served basis.
