This virtual artist talk is part of the Gallery's Technology and the Arts Exhibition held in March which closed early due to the shelter-in-place order. Audience members may join the live stream free of charge from the Gallery website link provided in this listing.

Marpi Studio collaborators will present several of their creative projects on the intersection of technology and the arts. The presentation will include discussion of how to evolve your artistic practice into an independent and financially sound studio. They'll share tried-and-true lessons from forming their own digital art studio, and discuss their vision for sustaining a creative business in future economies. The audience will be able to ask questions at the end of the talk.

Marpi Studio collaborators presenting for the Artist Talk include:

Marpi is a Polish-born, San Francisco-based artist who creates interactive, scalable work across multiple platforms in digital and physical space. In his current practice, Marpi designs and builds vast digital ecosystems that encompass both environments and creatures that are brought into being and shaped by users.

Kevin Colorado is a hardware and digital signal processing engineer. Under the moniker Chrysalis, his systems power cutting-edge digital art gallerys and installations worldwide.

Eliza Struthers-Jobin is an artist and programmer from Montreal, Canada, currently based in Paris, France. She works with emerging technologies creating real-time interactive audio visual installation and web-based playgrounds.

The Artist Talk is supported in-part by a grant from the Stockton Arts Commission
