Join us for an exciting discussion of la francophonie in a minority context on Thursday March 6, 2025 at 2:30 - 5:45 pm at Massey College!

Register now: https://www.masseycollege.ca/events/language-identity-and-resilience-exploring-the-importance-of-french-in-minority-language-communities/
Those registered by Tuesday March 25 at 9 am will be entered into a draw for tickets such as to The French Connection by the Kindred Spirits Orchestra at Glenn Gould Studio or a francophone-themed cooking lesson!

Featuring expert panels, this event will address key challenges and opportunities for French-speaking populations in minority contexts. We will delve into the critical role of the French language in shaping identity and fostering resilience from community engagement, service provision, to cultural activities. This conference is an opportunity for students, community members, and subject matter experts to connect over meaningful dialogue. Whether you are interested in French or fully fluent, this conference is for you! There will be live translations making this a bilingual event. French language learners can deepen their appreciation for bilingualism through the exploration of these topics, while native French speakers can strengthen their professional networks and foster connections within their language community.

This event is brought to you by the Language Exchange and Exploration program through Melon D'Oh La La, hosted at Massey College. We are grateful for the financial support of Canadian Heritage.
