In addition to the month-long exhibit, special events include two panels with expert speakers:

Panelists will discuss the design and programming of our institutions. Panelists are Deborah Spencer Chun, president and chief executive officer of Adult Friends For Youth and a participant in the Women In Prison project; Joshua Hargrove, general manager of Prince Waikiki hotel; and Vince Baldemor, Ed.D, associate athletics director, University of Hawaii.

"Mid-Century Modern Architecture" on July 20, 5:30p to 7p. A discussion of Hawaii's architecture from 1940 to 1960 and how it reflects our culture. Panelists are William Chapman, interim dean for the School of Architecture, University of Hawaii-Manoa; Kiersten Faulkner, executive director of Historic Hawaii Foundation; Graham Hart, architect and co-founder of Kokomo Studio; and Don Hibbard, author and architectural historian and founding member of Docomomo, Hawaii Chapter. The panel will be moderated by Katie Stephens, AHL senior associate and historic architect.

AIA will present a panel discussion about design award winners, focusing on sustainability and adaptive reuse on July 26, 5:30p - 7p.
