Encompassing sound, touch, taste and vision, this sensory four-day festival probes the deep interconnections of the health of the earth and our wellbeing.
Hear the changing ecosystem through the sounds of the Kemi, Finland's longest river in 'Virran Mukana' by award-winning sound artist Chris Watson. Imagine being surrounded by three thousand reindeer circling together in sound installation 'Boalno.' Join members of the Pgak'yau (Karen) in Northern Thailand as they make traditional snacks and recreate a Thai coffee ceremony.
Two hundred clay borindos capture real-time sounds and recreate them in soothing landscapes in installation 'Microtonal' by Invisible Flock, with master potter Allahjurriro and borindo musician Faqir Zulfiqar, presented nearby at The Crypt Gallery. Watch Sami artist Jenni Laiti ask what we should take with us to the next world in performance 'The End of This World.' Take part in storytelling and weaving workshops uncovering the stories of the Ogiek forest dwellers of Kenya.
The festival invites everyone to take part in a collective, mindful exploration and reflection into the environment and mental health.
Workshops, talks and performances are bookable. A selection of events have BSL interpretation and live captions, talks will be live streamed, and there are audio described tours of the installations. Chill out rooms will be open throughout the festival.
