#KnoxWrites Camp NaNoWriMo

National Novel Writing Month is technically held each November, when writers all over the world pledge to write 50,000 words. But nanowrimo.org seeks to keep the fun going, and there are also Camp NanoWriMo events each April and July. If you didn't finish (or start) your novel last fall, no worries: the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County is sponsoring #KnoxWrites Camp NaNoWriMo this April. Camp NaNoWriMo is a little different from NaNoWriMo in November, because writers can work on any type of creative project, not just a novel. First drafts or revision, scripts or stories or poems or essays—all are welcome! Just set a goal and start writing.

The KnoxWrites Camp NaNoWriMo group will meet from 12noon-1pm in April for "FreeWrite Fridays" via Zoom:

Freewrite Friday participants will be entered into a raffle to win:

Gift certificates to local coffee shops
A free copy of the writing guide Tell It Slant or Telling Stories
A half-hour manuscript consultation (first 20 pages)
$20 gift certificate to Paragraphs Bookstore

 
Writers who make it all the way through Camp NaNoWriMo and meet their writing goals will win a "Perseverance Prize" on April 30th. To qualify for the #Knoxwrites Camp NaNoWriMo Prizes:

#KnoxWrites Camp NaNoWriMo prizewinners will be featured on the Library's website and social media.
