Plants escaping from our gardens are causing harm to our parks and natural areas. In James River Park and other Richmond parks, these invasive, non-native plants are competing with native plants, sometimes blanketing the ground and toppling trees with their weight. The event will include information about invasive plants and how to control them; display of problematic plants; guided walks led by Department of Conservation and Recreation botanists; and cute goats getting rid of invasive plants by eating them. The event is family friendly and informal.
