Karen Marguth, CD-Release Concert

San Francisco Bay Area vocalist Karen Marguth is one of the most acclaimed vocal jazz artists to emerge in the 2000's. She has released five albums as a leader, two of which have been listed in DownBeat's annual Best-of-the-Year issue, and one which was listed in Andrew Gilbert's Best of Bay Area Jazz. France's Jazz Magazine included Karen in their issue of the 101 Essentiel Chanteuses. 
Named "one of the finest American jazz vocalists" by Jazz Times back in 2012, she has continued to quietly produce albums that receive international acclaim while holding down a day-job as an educator.
Karen's concert on December 4th at The Sound Room in Oakland will celebrate the release of her newest album on Origin Records. It will feature an all-star group of Bay Area musicians, including Erik Jekabson on trumpet, Dan Feiszli and Matt Finders sharing bass duties, Kelly Fasman on drums, and John R Burr on piano.
