Jazz Pocket at Ruby's : The Alan Weekes Band ft Island Girl

Alan Weekes guitar style has been an important part of the international and UK music scene since 1975.

He has featured at some of the most prestigious festivals and concert venues worldwide, and has both recorded and performed with some of the biggest names in the industry including the likes of Jimmy Cliff, Joss Stone, Damian Marley, Maxi Preist, George Clinton, Art Blakey, Courtney Pine, Ernest Ranglin, Pee Wee Ellis and many more.

On Thursday, October 24th Alan Weekes will be bringing his fantastic quartet which includes Livio polisano -drums, Stefan Melovski - guitar, Rio Kai - double bass and this month's guest vocalist Bianca Wilson aka 'Island Girl' - and watch out for very special guests and friends of Alan hopping up to join the band for a few tunes throughout the night!

We will also enjoy live artworks from Jonathan Ellis, who will be drawing and painting the musicians while they perform throughout the night. His works are available to purchase at the end of the event - a great chance to pick up something special on your way home.

Your host, DJ Jazzie Geoffrie will be setting the mood and filling all the gaps with his irresistible mix of 1960's be-bop and swing.
