To celebrate the would be 97th Birthday of James Baldwin, The Batty Mama are teaming up with Evidence to Exist to screen the seminal biographical documentary The Price Of The Ticket.

An emotional portrait, a social critique, and a passionate plea for human equality, JAMES BALDWIN: THE PRICE OF THE TICKET is now considered a classic.

Without using narration, the film allows Baldwin to tell his own story: exploring what it means to be born black, impoverished, gay and gifted - in a world that has yet to understand that "all men are brothers."

LONG-TABLE DISCUSSION:
The showing on Sunday 1 August at 2 pm will be followed by a post-screening long-table discussion. In conversation with Dirg Aaab-Richards, Ted Brown and Savi Hensman founders of "Black Lesbians and Gays Against Media Homophobia".

Showing never before seen archive footage of their campaigns, alongside documentary short "Beyond: There's Always A Black Issue Dear" [Dir Claire Lawrie: 2018, UK] and performers including Lasana Shabazz and more.
