Intergenerational Classical Music Project

From Sunday 1st September 2024 to 30th March 2025, the East London School of Music will be offering a unique opportunity to BAME Seniors aged 55 years and upwards (within the specified areas) to participate in a FREE 6 month classical music training workshop. The participants can join the community choir OR the orchestra. The 6-month training for the choir will take place at our Hackney site on a weekly basis (except bank holidays etc.) For those who wish to learn orchestral instruments, there is a option to attend orchestra rehearsals in person OR have 1:1 sessions online for the first few weeks.

At the end of the project, there will be two performances. The BAME Senior group will be supported by the children and young people from the BAME Community Orchesetra Project and East London School of Music.

The aim of the project is to encourage different age groups to work together and do something positive within the community. Make new friends, share experiences and promote well-being.
