It is that time of year again when we celebrate our Nation's Birthday on the Red Oak Victory! This year, we are also celebrating the ship's 75th Birthday. To help set the mood, Richmond's own George Cole and his trio will play live classic jazz and swing from the 40s to the 60s. Included with your $20 ticket is admission to the ship and, of course, viewing of the Richmond City fireworks display from the best seats in the house aboard the Red Oak Victory. On top of that, you can tour the ship including the bridge, the Captain's quarters, the radio room (with original radio), the galley and much more.
For a $40 ticket you get all of that plus you can enjoy a barbecue dinner while listening to George Cole and getting ready for the fireworks. Both tickets include seating on board the SS Red Oak Victory to watch the fireworks display.
As always, 100% of your ticket purchase price goes to support the restoration and operation of the Red Oak Victory, the last remaining ship built in the Richmond-Kaiser Shipyards in World War II.
NOTE: You MUST purchase a ticket on-line for this event and you MUST bring the printed or cell phone ticket with you. Due to the high volume of holiday traffic, only those with tickets will be allowed past the police road block coming into the Point Potrero area.
Time: 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm
