Impact of Same Day ACH Debits starting September 2017

Same Day credits are already here - this 90-minute session will focus on when debits are added, and the impact this may have on ACH Processing. According to the NACHA data, Same Day ACH was responsible for more than 13 million credit transactions, combined value totaled nearly $17 billion, in its just over three months of its operation. $43.7 trillion was transferred over the ACH Network last year and Same-day Direct Deposits made up 52 percent of Same Day ACH volume. Currently NACHA has enabled ACH Originators that desire same day processing the option to send same day ACH transactions to accounts at any Receiving Depository Financial Institution (RDFI).

Offering Same Day ACH products and services is optional for ODFIs. Whereas the Receipt of Same Day Entries is not optional for RDFIs. Few of the impacts discussed would be:

• Deeper knowledge about internal processing schedules and procedures to accommodate new windows for Same Day Entries
• Will discuss new file delivery schedules with ACH Operator
• Review the process/procedures changes for the Originators
• Find more on the impact on resources for processing files in the new delivery windows
• Discuss the impact of implementations where RDFIs do not need to review Effective Entry Date and do not need to determine same day eligibility for processing
