Surfing the net at faster-than-ever speeds, cloud gaming and streaming live videos in 8k-definition are all set to become a reality as the world prepares for 5G, the next generation of mobile and wireless internet connectivity.
Touted to be the next big leap in technological innovations of the future, countries are racing to roll out 5G infrastructure to meet the demand. The highly anticipated launch will see vast opportunities explored across all industries, fields and sectors.
But what is 5G, how will it affect our current technologies or applications and what are some challenges that can potentially arise from this?
Proudly organised by The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES), the IES Charles Rudd Distinguished Public Lectures 2019 will address issues, expectations and opportunities of “5G: A Safe and Better World?”. Learn more about the potential of 5G networks and how 5G will facilitate the next wave of technological innovations.
The panel discussion will be facilitated by Guest-of-Honour Professor Yaacob Ibrahim, Member of Parliament and former Minister for Communications and Information, and Minister in charge of Cyber Security. Notable speakers at the lecture presentations include inspiring thought-leaders from Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia Siemens and other leading global info-communication companies.
