Craftivist Carol Williams exhibits her timely and provocative Textiles and Poster art.

Carol Williams spent over seven years in the Army, worked for 20 years as an ER nurse, and has traveled worldwide as a musician. Her opinion columns have been published in several newspapers, including the Baltimore Sun. The artwork from her textile exhibit reflects her passion for social responsibility through artistic communication.

Her Textile art has been juried and selected in many galleries locally and nationally including:
The Artist Gallery, Frederick, MD: "Associates Show," Feb 2022
Berkeley ArtWorks, Martinsburg, WV: "Expressions of Gratitude," March 2022
Berkeley ArtWorks, Martinsburg, WV: Annual Art and Earth Juried Exhibit," April 2022
Hill Center Galleries, Washington DC: "Juried Capitol Hill Arts League," June 2022
Stamford Art Association, Stamford, CT: "the Marine Show," June 2022
Delaplaine Art Center, Frederick MD: solo show-2021 and selected for 2nd solo exhibit for 2025

Carol states: "My work with fabrics and buttons is a repurposing of the traditionally feminine art form of sewing and quilting, which has been historically classified as a craft. But I believe that quilting, depicted as folk art associated with the activity of rural women, both Black and white, has been underrated as the true art form that it is. My exhibit uses "women's work" of sewing to make political commentary. I began using the term "Craftivist" last year, which describes how art and activism converge as a unique vehicle of social messaging."

The Hot Button Gallery exhibit will be open Saturdays from 11am to 5pm and on Sundays from 12 to 4pm. The artist will be available for conversation at these times.
