HOW TO BUILD SLIDES THAT ATTENS THE ATTENTION
Tired of boring presentations, bad slides and illegible material? You may not know it, but it is possible to design highly effective presentations following some principles of human brain function.
The characteristics and objectives of the public must always be at the center when designing a presentation, so why not also consider the functioning characteristics of the human brain?
Knowing how people think, reason, process and store data and much more information will allow you to understand how to structure your intervention, when and how to introduce the most important concepts, how to organize the layout of your slides, how to use images and so on.
Neurodesign is that branch of design that studies how to apply discoveries from neuroscience research to the design of products, physical and otherwise, to increase their attractiveness and effectiveness. For example, neurodesign is spreading a lot among software programmers and website designers who know how important it is to put the end user at the center of the creative process. Although the use and reading of a web page is something very different from seeing a public speaking intervention and watching slides, the neurological functioning of our brain follows the same mechanisms in both situations.
It is therefore possible to apply some of these same principles to the design of presentations and to the creation of high-impact visual material (slides, images, paper documents, videos) thus achieving maximum communication effectiveness.
The principles of neurodesign applicable to the design of presentations have been grouped by topic and divided into 3 macro categories: design, material creation and public speaking. Each category corresponds to one of the main stages of creating a presentation, yes
