Join international yoga pioneer and Physical Therapist, Lara Heimann, on August 3rd at Summer Streets 2019, right at the Foley Square Rest Stop, to attempt to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title of 399 people executing a handstand. Let's smash it and then celebrate in the open public streets of the most iconic city in the world!
The theme of this year's Summer Streets is FREEDOM. And what better way to celebrate freedom than through the body? Doing a handstand expands what we think we are capable of on our mats which in turn expands what we believe we can do in our lives. It is the ultimate expression of freedom.
The definition of a handstand is weight-shifting onto the hands so both feet leave the ground. You can do it!
On-site registration begins at 7 AM and runs until 7:45 AM. All Participants must enter the queue line by 7:15 AM to secure a spot. Lara will host a brief LYT™ yoga class starting at 8:00 AM as a warm-up, and then, together, all participants will attempt to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title around 8:45 AM. The party starts at 9:15 AM once Lara and and the yoga participants succeed at completing the attempt! The activation ends at 10:00 AM but participants are welcome to visit and enjoy a host of other activities adjacent to this activation.
Time: 07:00 - 10:00
