Mehmet Sanlikol is an internationally celebrated composer of both western and Turkish music. Grammy-nominated composer and the September 2016 Editor's Pick of the most well-known jazz magazine in the world, DownBeat, he is also a professor at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. You'll hear innovative compositions - influenced by Turkish music - in which Near and Middle Eastern modes and rhythmic cycles are not simply placed next to contemporary Jazz but are intertwined with it.
