To commemorate the 850th Anniversary of the Bishop of Glasgow receiving a Charter from King William the Lion, "granting to God and St. Kentigern, and to Bishop Jocelin and his successors, that they should have a Burgh at Glasgow, with a market on Thursdays, and all the liberties and customs of the King's burghs", the Society of Friends of Glasgow Cathedral has commissioned a series of new stained-glass windows. These windows will feature five salient years in the history of the Cathedral and City. Designed by one of the Guides at the Cathedral and manufactured at the Glasgow Glass Studio, the Windows will be unveiled to the public at 15:00hrs on 8 June 2025 in the Nave of the Cathedral. The ceremony is open to the public and is, of course, free of charge.
