Enjoy an enchanting evening of decadent alfresco dining with Gather in the Garden, a multi-course wine dinner featuring Top Chef alums and rare Jordan wines. Hosted as part of Jordan Winery's 50th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of the John Jordan Foundation, the elegant affair begins with a reception in the Governor's Residence atrium, featuring Jordan Cuvee by Champagne AR Lenoble, hors d'oeuvres by Chef Norbert Hiller of E5 Events and Epicurean Catering and Jordan caviar blinis, before guests descend to the grand upper terrace in the garden for a four-course seated wine pairing dinner created by three Top Chef alums—Carrie Baird, Chef-Partner of Culinary Creative in Denver; Justin Sutherland, Chef-Owner of Handsome Hog in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Host of Fast Foodies; and Brother Luck, Chef-Owner of Four by Brother Luck in Colorado Springs. John Jordan, proprietor of Jordan Winery, and Maggie Kruse, the Jordan winemaker, will be your hosts through inventive dishes paired with rare and special wines, including the first vintage of Jordan Chardonnay bottled in magnum since 2004, the 40th anniversary vintage of Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon in magnum, and a rare 2005 "Super Blend" that was never released to the public.
A highlight of the evening, a troupe of local celebrity "sommeliers" will pour the rarest wine of the night before a mini live auction of five lots—featuring rare wines, unforgettable culinary experiences and Broncos memorabilia—will be led by former Denver Bronco Reggie Rivers. After dinner, guests will move to the Ellipsis Garden for a dessert reception by Chef Norbert Hiller of E5 Events and Epicurean Catering, dancing under the stars and the uncorking of a rare 2018 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon 18-liter Melchior—the equivalent of 24 bottles in one. Live music by Spinphony Electric String Quartet throughout the event will set the festive mood.
The Jordans built Jordan Winery while living in Denver in the 1970s, and second-generation vintner John Jordan, who shares his 50th birthday with the winery, is thrilled to uncork the special Jordan bottles with fellow wine lovers in the city he still considers his hometown.
