We'll have animal inspired shopping featuring: handmade jewelry for all budgets and species, artisanal dog treats, bath and bodycare for dogs and you, purrfectly hand poured candles, locally made snacks and sweets for you and your pets, art and prints, handmade decor, punch needle and embroidery, streetfood and live music by Casey Thomas-Burns and Dean Thiessen at 11am, Leela at 1pm and Josh Bogart at 3pm
Casey Thomas-Burns (she/her/hers) is a trombonist, vocalist, bandleader and arts administrator based in Vancouver, Canada. Casey is the founder and director of 10-woman jazz band 'The Leading Ladies' and was described by Juno-nominated bassist Jodi Proznick as "the future of arts leadership".
Dean is a Vancouver-based pianist, composer, and educator originally from Sylvan Lake, Alberta. His Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Composition was completed after a unique educational trajectory that included Red Deer College, Berklee College of Music, and Capilano University. Currently, Dean enjoys a busy career gigging within the local jazz and improvised music scenes as a sideman with a number of established groups including jazz bands, wedding events, and choral groups.
Leela is a singer/songwriter/ guitarist currently residing in Vancouver. Her live music consists of Pop/ Folk/ RandB originals and hundreds of covers. When performing live, she uses a vocal harmonizer pedal to split her voice into two, creating a bigger sound that the audience loves. She has been performing in restaurants/ bars and other live music venues for over 13 years and is a true professional. Leela is currently working on new music for 2023.
Electropop artist Josh Bogert is a bonafide triple threat, taking his songs from inception to completion as a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. With a distinctive sound that is both complex and candid, he has the ability to reflect the intimacy of relationships and communicate through song what it means to be human.
The Local Scene is the only market in town with touring musicians. Is it a show or is it a market? It's a SHmarket!
