Funhouse Comedy Club - New Comedy Night in Castle Gresley, Swadlincote August 2023

Funhouse Comedy Club, which already runs successful nights at numerous venues across the country, is excited to announce the launch of a brand new comedy night at The Mount Pleasant Inn, Swadlincote on Tuesday August 8th.

Funhouse clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere, which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website Chortle. Previous acts to have played its clubs on their road to the top include Sarah Millican, Joe Lycett, James Acaster and Rhod Gilbert, who described the clubs as “among the best anywhere in the world.”

Topping the bill is the animated Sean Heydon, one of the country's premier comedy magicians, who has appeared on various TV shows, including Britain’s Got Talent where he got a unanimous 4 yesses from the judges and Channel 4's Paul O’Grady Show, as the resident illusionist. With his unique style, he captivates the crowds, often receiving standing ovations.

Opening the night will be the cheeky, chatty Dave Twentyman. No matter what your mood, you really can't help but warm to him, he puts a big smile on everyone's face. Talking a lot about the subjects closer to home such as family life & friends. Its light-hearted, positive fun that audiences can't help relating to.

Completing the line-up is Jules O’Brian, shortlisted for Funny Women 2021, she enjoys telling anyone who will listen about ageing disgracefully, body hang-ups, parenting, and dating all done with a twinkle in her eye.

Compere for the night is the cheerful and chatty Spiky Mike.
