Funhouse Comedy Club - Edinburgh Festival Preview All-Dayer in Derby August 2021

Funhouse Comedy brings an outstanding day of comedy to the beer garden stage at Bar One, Derby on Sunday August 15th with its Edinburgh Festival Preview All-Dayer. 

2.00pm – Jack Gleadow
Award winning One Man Variety Show, Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2018, the cheeky Jack Gleadow, hailing from Hull and claiming to have illegitimate Chuckle Brothers heritage, he is one of the most unique performers on the UK comedy circuit today. 

3.25pm – Jon Pearson
Jon is heading out with his most ambitious show yet. No material, just him, you and a microphone. Jon just literally wants to know, 'What you Been Up To?'. 
Jon can normally be found MCing comedy clubs around the country and during this pandemic, he has really missed interacting with you all!

4.50pm – Aaron Simmonds
Aaron has been failing to stand up for 30 years; luckily, he is far better at comedy than standing up. He has a unique perspective on life, usually of people's belly buttons, which gives him stories to tell, and a sore neck.

6.15pm – - Ignacio Lopez 
Spaniard/Welshman with his unique brand of sarcastic observations and witty lines. He gives his audience a taste of what it's like to be the outsider, explaining cultural differences with hilarious results. During the pandemic he has focussed on putting comedy content online, streaming live comedy events, running a weekly quiz and teaching people how to make Sangria.

7.30pm – Dan Evans
Original and inventive; Dan has been performing stand-up comedy internationally for over ten years. His twisted logic and silly but playful material is delivered in low-key conversational style. His inspiration comes from daft, semi-surreal time-wasting. He's appeared on BBC 2's 'Brain Candy', 'Channel 5 at The Store' and the Channel 5 'Comedy Zone', Radio 2's 'Stand Up Show' and '28 acts in 28 minutes' on Radio 4 as well as writing for Milton Jones.

8.45pm – Shazia Mirza
International award-winning comedian and columnist for the Guardian Weekend magazine who has also guested on 'Have I Got News For You?' From Birmingham, she was previously a science teacher with one of her former pupils being the rapper Dizzee Rascal. Star of radio and TV she has appeared on 'Last Comic Standing', 'Richard and Judy' and 'The Wright Stuff'. Shazia's distinctive act combines a deadpan delivery with observation on her world; her laconic one-liners represent something quite unique in modern comedy.

Doors open 1:30pm

£8 in advance for a full day ticket
£5 evening ticket (after 6pm)

Takes place on the outdoor stage in the covered beer garden. Food available.
