Funhouse Comedy Club - Comedy Night in Ashby-de-la-Zouch January 2023

Funhouse Comedy opens the New Year at the Lyric Rooms, Ashby-de-la-Zouch on Thursday January 5th with a great night of laughter. 

Topping the bill is the intrinsically funny Lloyd Griffith comedian, choirboy and an 'aspiring' goalkeeper who has supported Jack Whitehall and Rob Beckett on tour. He has also made numerous TV appearances including as regular host on Sky Sports' Soccer AM and on Comedy Central Live at The Comedy Store. As a choirboy in Grimsby, he sang on 'The National Lottery, with Dudley Moore who played the piano. Then later in life sang backing vocals on a Bee Gees album. A professional singer but always a natural jester he turned to stand-up and with his down-to-earth cynicism and lively attitude, he enthrals the crowd.

Opening the night will be actor, stand-up and winner of the English Comedian of The Year 2015 the appealing Brennan Reece, who has appeared on 'Live at the Apollo' and supported Rob Brydon and Joe Lycett on tour. His lively and sometimes uncomfortable attitude to life is perceptible in his fast paced, vibrantly drawn, hilarious tales.

Also appearing will be actor, script writer and comedian the cheeky and gifted Meryl O'Rourke, who has supported Frankie Boyle on tour. Her excellent mix of bitter adult and youthful fun captivates the audience as she relates her stories. 

Completing the line-up is Anthony Ayton, being a London kid who was the first Black guy at an all-white boarding school, he has a unique and hilarious perspective on life which he weaves skilfully.

Compere for the night will be the energetic and animated Spiky Mike.
