This will be a 2 day free to enter event, with over 30 displays by local groups including 3 local florists, Chard Museum, The Mens Shed, a project called Sunflowers of Somerset which was set up after lockdown finished in 2021, as well as local craft and community groups, both adult and children.
As well as using the general theme of celebration such as weddings and baptisms, there will be displays focussing on the Queens Platinum jubilee. These displays will use a variety of floral media, natural, artificial and knitted.
There will be an opportunity on both days at certain times to listen to our organists playing,
Or just sit and reflect on the surrounding beauty.
Refreshments will be served on both days during the times specified and there will be a raffle and an opportunity for the public to vote for their favourite display.
On the Saturday the event will be preceded by our usual free Community Breakfast and on the Sunday morning the service prior to the event will be a Songs of Praise, with favourite hymns.
For the safety of guests there will be Stewards on duty to guide you around the one way system, however visitors can spend as much time as they like in the church looking at the displays.
Please come and see our displays take photos and appreciate the talents of the many people who have contributed and help us to support Barnardos, which is a charity which supports vulnerable children and their families.
