Fisk Jubilee Singers

The Fisk Jubilee Singers from Fisk University in Nashville, TN have been the preeminent preservationists of the Negro Spirituals since their inception in 1871, and will be performing live in Staunton at the Central United Methodist Church on Saturday April 13 for two concerts at 3:00pm and 7:30pm. This is a rare opportunity to see and hear this Grammy winning troupe. The Negro Spirituals are the bedrock of gospel, blues, country, rhythm and blues, jazz, and rock ‘n roll, nearly all the popular music we listen to today, and the seriousness of the music is not lost on the Singers.
