The Carrollwood Village homeowners associations will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its community during the inaugural Fall Fest outdoor community event on October 22 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, located at 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa.
In collaboration with the Carrollwood Village HOAs and the Carrollwood Cultural Center, Fall Fest is a free, family-friendly event with food trucks, bounce houses, pumpkin painting, fair games and contests, family photo opportunities, and more.
Golden anniversary activities will include a community art project with residents' hand prints, a recording station to capture neighborhood stories, a golf cart decorating contest, and more.
Local entertainers will take the stage throughout the day, starting with Liz Hollister at 10 a.m. Hollister is known for her energetic song styling, eclectic song choices, and captivating voice.
Next, Carrollwood Village will be treated to the talents of neighbors and friends as several musical groups and ensembles perform throughout the afternoon: New Horizons Band and Ukulele Ensemble at 11 a.m., Carrollwood Brass at noon, Carrollwood Jukebox at 1 p.m., and the Carrollwood Community Chorus at 1 p.m. Each group calls Carrollwood home, having originated at the Carrollwood Cultural Center throughout the years, making the Village an incubator for homegrown talent.
Next, 17-year-old Carrollwood resident Sophia Girgenti will perform at 3 p.m. Girgenti has been performing the guitar since the fourth grade. In addition, she enjoys playing soccer and volunteers at Metropolitan Ministries and the Village Presbyterian Church. Girgenti is a senior at the Academy of the Holy Names and is planning to attend the University of South Florida next year and study psychology.
Finally, the Glen Fox Band will travel back in time for Carrollwood Village's 50th Anniversary and relive the iconic classic rock anthems of the 60s, 70s, and 80s to close the celebration at 4 p.m.
Members of the Carrollwood Village HOAs, VISTA Gardens, and the Carrollwood Village Park will also be joining the festivities. Fall Fest is presented by Carrollwood Village HOAs.
