Join the FSO in its season-opening concert on October 9 at the stunning, new Capital One Hall in Tysons, VA.
Cellist, Amit Peled performs Camille Saint-Saens Cello Concerto No. 1, with an explosion of emotion from the first note! Regarded as the first, "well-known" romantic concerto written for the cello in 1872 by Saint-Saens at the age of 37, the composition places this beautiful instrument front and center right from the start. Many composers, including Shostakovich and Rachmaninoff, considered this concerto to be the greatest of all cello concertos.
Peled is a musician of profound artistry and charismatic stage presence. He is acclaimed worldwide as one of the most exciting and virtuosic instrumentalists on the concert stage.
The program also includes Beethoven: Symphony No. 7.
