Written by award-winning local playwright Charlotte Higgins, the El Dorado County premiere of Alabama Women offers darkly humorous performances every weekend in November at The Stage at Burke Junction. Says Charlotte, "It is with great delight and wonder that I have watched the reimagining of this work and its transformation into this splendid production of Alabama Women."

Skillfully directed by Maggie Upton, this production promises an unforgettable experience. Six vignettes showcase the enormous talents of Georgann Wallace as "Dixie" and "Charr", Janet Motenko as "Evelyn" and "Helen", Marion Jeffrey as "Loretta" and "Dominique", and Alyson L. Lewis as "Alice".

Photographer Charr Crail (CapStage, Music Circus) observed, "Going in, I had NO idea what to expect. It was very funny, thought-provoking and very sad, as it was meant to be no doubt. Even with the starkness of a single person on the stage, I still felt the stage to be completely full with lots to see and experience."
