Dr. Beth Wenger, University of Pennsylvania, will discuss American interpretations of the "holy land" by examining American tourism and travel to pre-state Israel, the representation of the holy land in exhibitions and world fairs, and the symbols and the public culture of American Zionism.
A reception following the lecture will include an interfaith discussion on what the holy land means to people of different faiths.
