The Dust Parade is an original music group born from the sandy beaches and river towns of Eastern North Carolina. They perform a unique brand of music which melds surfy/jazz-rock sounds and bluesy/soul rhythms. Hank Barbee leads "The Parade" with his sultry baritone voice and bluesy guitar, while Jim Durham weaves in saxophone passages reminiscent of musical jams of the past. On the bottom end, Matt Henderson keeps the bass lines ever moving, energetically driving the band forward across drummer Chet Miller's dynamic grooves. The Dust Parade is currently on the cusp of releasing a full-length album of all original compositions which they will be performing Saturday night. By popular demand, the band has added a matinee for Sunday, "The Dust Parade plays Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler," a reprise of their recent tribute performance at the Craven Bank of the Arts Gallery in New Bern. Fans of Knopfler's legendary band and songs are absolutely in for a treat.
