Indivisible AVL is joining with groups all over the country in a coordinated “Deadline for Democracy” campaign during the July Congressional recess (6/28-7/10), to draw attention to the urgency of passing voting rights and democracy reforms in the FOR THE PEOPLE ACT. NC senators Thom Tillis and Richard Burr both opposed even opening debate on this important legislation.
So join us Friday at 5:30 in front of Sen. Tillis's WNC district office. Come hear dramatic readings from some of our nation’s historical documents, as we hold up some of the core principles of our democracy, and learn about the main protections included in the FOR THE PEOPLE ACT - Voting Rights, Fair Election Maps, Campaign Finance Reform, Election Security, and Ethics. Live music will include patriotic songs, and the event will conclude with the national anthem.
Help us send a message to our senators: Democracy is not a partisan issue! Pass the FOR THE PEOPLE ACT now!
