Dance for Dignity:

The Dance for Dignity will feature the highly dancable music of Stanley and the Undercovers, special guests, important information, international food, and a cash bar. We are all horrified by the continuing assault on the human rights and dignity toward those seeking asylum in the United States. In response, a group of Arlington and Somerville neighbors are working with the Arlington, Somerville, Cambridge Cluster; the Arlington-Teosinte Sister City Project; the First Parish UU; the Cambridge Community Foundation; the Somerville Sanctuary Steering Committee, and the Refugee Immigration Ministry to raise $25,000 to support those seeking refuge in our community.

All proceeds from this benefit dance will go to support the work of the Arlington/Cambridge/Somerville Cluster, whose volunteers provide housing, food, clothing, medical assistance, vocational training and the United Legal Defense Fund for Immigrants which provides critical legal defense services for local immigrants—our neighbors and friends who are being subjected to detention and deportation. You can help people caught in these tragic circumstances by attending and sponsoring the Dance for Dignity, happening on Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 7:00 to 10:30 p.m. at the First Parish Unitarian Church Sanctuary on Mass Ave. in Arlington Center.

The night will feature the highly danceable music of Stanley and the Undercovers playing classic rock from the ’60s and ’70s, complimentary international desserts. and a cash bar. The suggested donation for tickets is $25, available in advance and at the door.
